UKIP Tameside supports Eurofest 2016 – an event held in Denton Victoria Park to celebrate it’s twinning with Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France and Kierspe, Germany. This year it is on Saturday 11th June, 3.00 – 10.00pm. There will be live European bands, European food and a beer tent. The event will symbolise our shared values and friendliness with our European neighbours, with some great entertainment thrown in.
However, while we love Europe we’ll also be supporting Vote Leave in the forthcoming referendum. We don’t believe the EU is consistent with our values of democracy, nor supports ordinary working people – although it’s very good at promoting itself (of course with expenditure of £536M p.a. just to promote yourself, at least some of that should work). We also don’t believe it can be changed. Nigel Farage has been trying for over 35 years without success and every time we have a vote involving reform, it gets voted out – yes, every time (76 times out of 76 to be precise).
We’ll have our table-top stall near the entrance, with badges, balloons, pens and of course, leaflets, 3.00-6.30pm. Hope to see you there.
