Disturbing video emerges from the Heywood and Middleton byelection showing the local Labour mayores says something rather odd.
Quote from @ : Imagine a UKIP mayor whispering to a winning UKIP MP,caught on Mic “You would have won no matter the result” BBC would spontaneously combust.
Cllr Carol Wardle was recorded on stage at the count telling Liz McInnes MP “it would have been that result whatever it said” in reference to the piece of paper with the result.
She appeared unaware that a microphone in front of her was switched on, and that she could be clearly heard on the video feed. A copy of the recording was posted on YouTube and led to UKIP supporters complaining that the result may have been rigged.
UKIP narrowly lost the election to Labour, in an epic contest that left the once safe Labour seat with a majority of just 617. As previously reported on Breitbart London, Rochdale Council staff had been at pains to point out that whilst Wardle is legally the Returning Officer, this is purely ceremonial and she was not involved with the organisation of the election or the counting of the vote.
Cllr Wardle, told Breitbart London: “This was an unfortunate mistake by me and I wholeheartedly apologise for any concern caused. My only role in the whole proceedings was a ceremonial one, to formally announce the result by reading the declaration.
